I have never been happier when my best friend’s boyfriend in ten years finally proposed to her before last year ended. It was a surprise wedding proposal made in front of our closest friends during our Christmas party. We were screaming, dancing and crying – all because of the joy that we felt the moment her boyfriend knelt and handed the ring to her.

My best friend was really shocked and speechless. She could not believe what she was hearing and seeing at that very moment. We waited for her response for a really long time. She let him stand up because he has been kneeling for more than ten minutes. As she was still trying to be back in her senses, we asked the guy questions about the ring because it was very nice! So while waiting for the response, he went on telling of the story at how he chose the ring from the many wedding ring sets that were presented to hi m from the number of jewelry shops that he visited. He mentioned that the beautifully-crafted ring shows my best friend’s elegance and beauty inside and out.

The wedding proposal happened sooner than we expected, though. They had just gotten back in the relationship after they broke up and was not together for a year. Everyone in the circle was saddened when they decided to call it quits after almost a decade of being together. But, after a year, we rejoiced when we heard the news that the two are back to each other’s arms. It is going to be the most anticipated wedding of this year 2012!

It’s been a tradition in my family for years on the day before new year’s to all get together and watch movies on my TV. Now I know the difference between a standard king size bed and a California king size bed. The latter is longer and narrower as explained by the salesman when I went out last weekend to check out some bedroom furniture los angeles. My son has found a new show that he really likes. Actually I am the one who found it. Several of my friends with kids his age had told me that their kids really like to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. I had never seen it, so I added it to our DVR that we have with DIRECT TV. After watching the show once, my son was hooked. Each episode includes some sort of mystery to be solved or activity to be accomplished. The characters use different tools throughout the show to figure out the mystery or do the activity. The show is actually pretty entertaining and educational. It reinforces shapes, colors, numbers, and memory techniques. At the end of each episode Mickey and his friends do a “hot dog dance” to celebrate solving the mystery of the day. My son and I always laugh at the goofy dance and usually try to imitate the characters as they do the dance. Well, it can't be denied... winter is coming our way and there's no stopping it! The prospect of moving in our very own home early next year has left me feeling all jittery and excited. We already sought the help of a real estate agent last week and he gave us a listing of properties for sale at the north side of SLC where we plan to reside permanently.

And just the other day, we went to look at some of the properties we liked on the listings. The first one is a rambler --- a single family home with three beds and two and a half baths. The other one is a townhouse located in a nice community with the same number of beds and baths. The only difference between the two is the garage. The rambler can accommodate two cars whereas the townhouse can only hold one car. Although we liked both properties but hubby and I decided not to make an offer yet. We don't want to rush things up and of course we still want to see other properties before we make a final decision. Anyway, we still have a few months left to find our home sweet home and hopefully we will have enough money by then to buy new appliances and furniture. Hubby and I both agreed that we'll dispose of our old furniture and just buy new ones so everything will be brand new. Isn't that exciting? I feel so tired today! I spent the whole day rearranging our bedroom furniture and decluttering our walk-in closet. It's hard because I'm the only one pushing all the heavy furniture from one corner to another. Hubby was even surprised when he got home and he could not believe that I did it all without help from anybody. Well, he actually scolded me a bit because I could have injured my back for doing all the work but what's done is done. I am anxious of becoming old (although I am very far from reaching the golden years). Why?
